EAT BITTER explores the absurdities that accompany being a young, second-generation Chinese American woman struggling with high-functioning anxiety in search of success, self-fulfillment, and love in New York City.

It's a side window into Chinese American lives that I haven't seen on television. It embodies the social commentary of Insecure, the internal identity conflict of Ramy, and the irreverence of Fleabag. My goal is to represent the Chinese American experience with nuance as just one subset of the enormously diverse Asian diaspora.
